How to perform ablution

Ako spraviť očistu

Ablution (Wudu) is an essential ritual in Islam that must be performed before certain acts of worship, especially Salah (prayer). It involves washing specific parts of the body in a prescribed manner to achieve physical and spiritual cleanliness.

Steps to Perform Wudu (Ablution):

1. Make Niyyah (Intention):

Before starting, make a mental intention (Niyyah) in your heart that you are performing wudu to purify yourself for worship.

You don’t need to say anything aloud, as the intention is in your heart.

2. Say Bismillah (In the Name of Allah):

Begin the wudu by saying “Bismillah” (In the name of Allah).

3. Wash Your Hands (3 times)

Wash both hands up to the wrists thoroughly, starting with the right hand. Do this three times, making sure to clean between the fingers.

4. Rinse Your Mouth (3 times):

Take a small amount of water in your right hand and use it to rinse your mouth three times. Swish the water around in your mouth, and then spit it out.

5. Clean Your Nose (3 times):

Inhale water gently into your nose (without hurting yourself) and blow it out. Do this three times, using your left hand to blow out any water from the nose.

6. Wash Your Face (3 times):

Wash your face thoroughly from the forehead to the chin and from ear to ear three times. Ensure that the water reaches every part of your face, including your beard if you have one.

7. Wash Your Arms (3 times, starting with the right):

Wash your right arm up to and including the elbows three times. Repeat the process with the left arm. Make sure water covers the entire arm, including the elbows.

8. Wipe Your Head (1 time):

Wet your hands and pass them over your head, starting from the front to the back and then back to the front again. This is done once.

9. Wipe Your Ears (1 time):

Use your wet fingers to wipe the inside of your ears with your index fingers and the outside of your ears with your thumbs. This is done once.

10. Wash Your Feet (3 times, starting with the right):

Wash your right foot up to and including the ankles three times. Make sure to clean between your toes. Repeat with the left foot.

11. Recite the Shahada:

After completing wudu, it is recommended to say:

• “Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu

(I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger).

Additionally, you can recite this dua:

• “Allahummaj ’alni minat-tawwabeen waj ’alni minal mutatahhireen”

(O Allah, make me among those who seek repentance and make me among those who purify themselves).

When Should Wudu Be Performed?

Wudu is required in the following situations:

1. Before Salah (prayer):

Wudu is required before performing any of the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha).

2. Before Touching the Quran:

Wudu is required before handling the physical copy of the Quran, as the Quran should be touched in a state of purity.

3. Before Tawaf (Circumambulating the Kaaba):

Wudu is required before performing Tawaf around the Kaaba during Hajj or Umrah.

4. Before Reciting the Quran (Recommended):

Although it is not mandatory, it is recommended to be in a state of wudu when reciting the Quran from memory.

When Does Wudu Break?

You should renew your wudu if any of the following occur:

1. Natural Discharge:

Using the bathroom (urine, feces, or passing wind).

2. Deep Sleep:

If you fall asleep deeply to the point where you lose awareness, your wudu is invalid.

3. Loss of Consciousness:

Fainting or losing consciousness breaks wudu.

4. • Intentionally touching the private parts without a barrier breaks wudu.

5. Bleeding or Vomiting in Large Amounts:

Although not all schools of thought agree, some scholars say significant bleeding or vomiting invalidates wudu.

Summary:

Wudu is an essential purification act before prayers, handling the Quran, and Tawaf.

Yes, the steps of wudu must be performed correctly and in the prescribed order for the ablution to be valid. According to most Islamic scholars, the essential steps of wudu are once again as follows:

1. Intention (Niyyah): You must make the intention in your heart to perform wudu for the purpose of worship or purification.

2. Washing the hands: Wash both hands up to the wrists three times.

3. Rinsing the mouth: Rinse your mouth three times.

4. Cleaning the nose: Sniff water into the nostrils and blow it out three times.

5. Washing the face: Wash your face from the hairline to the chin and from ear to ear three times.

6. Washing the arms: Wash your arms from the fingertips to the elbows three times, starting with the right arm.

7. Wiping the head (Masah): Wet your hands and wipe your head once, including part of your hair and/or scalp.

8. Wiping the ears: Wipe the inside and outside of both ears once.

9. Washing the feet: Wash both feet up to the ankles three times, starting with the right foot.

These steps must be performed in the correct order, and you should ensure that water touches all parts required for washing. Skipping or missing a step invalidates the wudu, and you would need to start again. Additionally, maintaining a state of mindfulness and intention throughout the process is crucial.

FAJR

both rah´ahs aloud

obe rakah nahlas

Here is a step-by-step guide for the Fajr prayer with Surah Al-Fatiha and additional surahs fully transliterated at each step. This will ensure you have the full text in transliteration for each recitation.

After the Adhan is complete #1

Wa ana ash-hadu al-lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, wa anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhū wa rasūluh, raḍītu bi-llāhi rabbā, wa bi Muḥammadi-r-rasūlā, wa bi-l-islāmi dīnā.

I also bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion.

The Messenger of Allah said: “If anyone says [the above] on hearing the mu’adhdhin, his sins will be forgiven.” (Muslim 386)

After the Adhan is complete #2

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad…

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad…

The Messenger of Allah said: “When you hear the mu’adhdhin calling for the prayer, repeat his words then send blessings upon me. The one who sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send 10 blessings upon him…” (Muslim 384)

After the Adhan is complete #3

Allāhumma rabba hādhi-hi-d-dʿawati-t-tāmmati wa-ṣ-ṣalāti-l-qāimah, āti Muḥammadani-l-wasīlata wa-l-faḍīlah, wa-b-ʿath-hu maqāma-m-maḥmūdani-l-ladhī wa ʿadtah.

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer, grant Muhammad the status (a unique lofty status in Paradise) and pre-eminence, and resurrect him to the praiseworthy station that You have promised him.

The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever says [the above] after the adhān shall receive my intercession on the Day of Judgement.” (Bukhārī 614)

Information: after finishing FAJR, it is not permissible to pray until 15-20 after sunrise.

After sunrise say duas:

More weightier than an entire morning of worship. Reward: 6 hours of dhikr.

Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise).

A few words which are loved by Allah, (which are) light on the tongue, (yet) heavy in the scales.

Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azim

(Bukhari)

100x: SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi. SubhanAllahil azeem.

It was narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever says Subhaan Allaah il ‘azeem wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah the Almighty), a palm tree will be planted for him in Paradise.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3464) classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (hadeeth no. 64).

Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Whoever says Subhan Allahi Wa Bihamdihi, one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins (minor) even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.” (Bukhari)

Rabbanaa ‘aatinaa fid-dunyaa hasanatan wa fil-‘aakhirati hasanatan wa qinaa ‘athaaban-naar.” (2:201)

Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!”

BEFORE DHUHR Prayer

For protection from hellfire

According to Prophet Muhammad, these acts have a protective function, and whoever practices them will never enter Hell. The same applies, according to Prophet Muhammad, to those who are diligent in performing the FAJR and ASR prayers.

The Duha Prayer (Prayer after Sunrise)

  • Time: After sunrise (approximately 15–20 minutes after it rises) until just before noon.

  • Significance: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described this prayer as a way of showing gratitude to Allah for health and blessings. It is recommended to perform between 2 and 12 rak'ahs.

  • Hadith: The Prophet said, "Every joint of a person must give charity every day... and the Duha prayer suffices as a form of charity" (Muslim).

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer, grant Muhammad the status (a unique lofty status in Paradise) and pre-eminence, and resurrect him to the praiseworthy station that You have promised him.

ASR

všetky 4 rakahs potichu

Here's a step-by-step guide for the Asr prayer (4 Rak'ahs Fard) with Surah Al-Fatiha fully transliterated. Asr, like Dhuhr, consists of four rak'ahs, with Surah Al-Fatiha in every rak'ah. In the third and fourth rak'ahs, only Surah Al-Fatiha is recited without an additional surah.

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer, grant Muhammad the status (a unique lofty status in Paradise) and pre-eminence, and resurrect him to the praiseworthy station that You have promised him.

After the Adhan is complete #1

I also bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion.

(As You have sent grace upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, You are indeed Praiseworthy, Most Glorious)

Allahumma baarik 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala aali Muhammadin
(O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad)

(As You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are indeed Praiseworthy, Most Glorious).

Step 8: Tasleem (Ending the Prayer)

  • Turn your face to the right and say:

    • Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah
(Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you)

  • Turn your face to the left and say:

    • Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah
(Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you)

This concludes the Isha prayer (4 Rak'ahs Fard).

Shall I not tell you of something by means of which you will catch up with those who have gone before you and will go ahead of those who come after you, and no one could achieve what you achieve except one who does what you do. At the end of every prayer, glorify Allah (by saying Subhaan Allah) ten times, and praise Him (by saying al-hamdu Lillah) ten times, and magnify Him (by saying Allahu akbar) ten times.

Strong evening dua – removes all sins:
Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr
(There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belongs the kingdom, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable.)

Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhi l-‘Aliyyi l-‘Aẓīm
(There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.)

Subḥānallāh
(Glory be to Allah.)

Walḥamdu lillāh
(All praise is for Allah.)

Wa lā ilāha illallāh
(And there is no god but Allah.)

Wallāhu akbar.
(And Allah is the Greatest.)

Dua after finishing prayer for Entrance to paradise should you die after your prayer:
Dua po dokončení modlitby za vstup do raja, ak by si zomrel po modlitbe:

"Allahu la ilaha illa huwa Al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wala nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wama fil-'ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi? Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wama khalfahum. Wala yuhituna bishay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a. Wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal ard. Wa la ya'uduhu hifzuhuma wa huwa al-'Aliyyul-'Adheem."

"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

It is a tradition attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that states whoever recites Ayatul Kursi in the morning or in the afternoon, nothing will stand between them and paradise except death or the people of paradise. It highlights the significance of reciting Ayatul Kursi for spiritual protection and blessings.

Al-Bara’ bin `Azib (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Whenever Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) went to bed, he would lie down on his right side and recite: “Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa ‘alja’tu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja’a wa la manja illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal–ladhi anzalta, wa nabiyyikal–ladhi arsalta [Translation: O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned my face to You, committed my affairs to You, and depend on You for protection out of desire for You and out of fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment). There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believed in the Book You have revealed, and in the Prophet You have sent” (i.e., Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)).]” [Al-Bukhari].

In another report, the same narrator said:

Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) directed me thus: “Whenever you go to bed, perform Wudoo as you do for Salat then (before sleeping) recite: ‘O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned myself to You, committed my affairs to You and sought Your refuge for protection out of desire for You and fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment). There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believe in the Book You have revealed and in the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) You have sent.’“ Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) added: “If anyone recites these words and dies during the night, he will die on the true Deen, and if he remains alive until the morning, he will obtain good. And make this supplication your last words (before sleeping).” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary:

Before going to bed, a believer revives his commitment to Faith, Islam and Allah by reciting this prayer of Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam). Through this practice, every night he is able to remember Allah and His Commandments amidst the activities of the day time.

[Riyad as-Saliheen, Etiquette of Sleeping, Lying, and Sitting, etc., Chapter 127, Hadiths 815-816]

The benefits, according to the tradition attributed to the Prophet Muhammad, of reciting Ayatul Kursi in the morning or afternoon include:

1. Protection: Reciting Ayatul Kursi acts as a means of spiritual protection from harm and evil influences.

2. Nearness to Paradise: It is said that nothing will stand between the person who recites Ayatul Kursi and paradise, except death or the people of paradise, thereby implying a close connection to heavenly rewards and blessings.

3. Spiritual Blessings: Reciting Ayatul Kursi brings spiritual blessings and strengthens one's faith.

These benefits highlight the significance of Ayatul Kursi in Islamic practice for seeking protection and divine blessings.

Qiyam

aloud

nahlas

The Qiyam-ul-Layl prayer, also known as the night prayer, refers to any prayer that is performed after the Isha prayer and before the Fajr prayer. Recommended to be completed in the last 1/3 of the islamic night which is counted as sunset / MAGHRIB – to FAJR. Tahajjud is a part of Qiyam-ul-Layl but is specifically performed after waking up from sleep in the last part of the night. Qiyam-ul-Layl, on the other hand, can be prayed at any time after Isha until Fajr without needing to sleep beforehand. It is a highly recommended voluntary (Nafl) prayer, especially during Ramadan and the last ten nights.

Here´s a step-by-step guide to performing the Qiyam-ul-Layl prayer. You can follow the same general structure as Tahajjud, but it can be prayed in any number of rak'ahs (preferably in sets of two) and may include Witr at the end.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever awakes at night and then says:

Transliteration:
La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeer, subhanal-lah, walhamdu lillah, wala ilaha illal-lah wallahu akbar, walahaula wala quwwata illa billahil-AAaliyyil-AAatheem.

Translation:
"None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without associate. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things wholly capable. How perfect Allah is, and all praise is for Allah, and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah. Allah is the greatest, and there is no power nor might except with Allah, The Most High, The Supreme."

...and then supplicates:
Transliteration: Rabbigh-fir lee.
Translation: "O my Lord, forgive me."

...will be forgiven.
Al-Waleed said, "or he ﷺ said: ‘and then asks, he will be answered. If he then performs ablution and prays, his prayer will be accepted.’”

Who is Al-Waleed?

The "Al-Waleed" mentioned in this narration is likely Al-Waleed ibn Muslim, a well-known transmitter of Hadith (Islamic traditions) and a reputable scholar of the early Islamic period. He was a prominent figure in preserving and narrating Hadiths and often appears in chains of narration in Islamic texts.

In the context of the narration you provided, he is clarifying or adding a statement he may have heard from another source, potentially strengthening the narration with an additional detail. Let me know if you'd like a deeper historical background on him!

When is Qiyam-ul-Layl Concluded?

  • Qiyam-ul-Layl can be prayed at any time after Isha until the time for Fajr begins. It is concluded when you complete your last set of two rak'ahs or after praying Witr.

Tahajjud

aloud

nahlas

Best time to make a dua is at Tahajjud. Allah is said to accept duas made in the last 1/3 of the night, though it was a myth for me. The best time to seek forgiveness is also during last 1/3 of the night.

Here's the complete step-by-step guide for performing Tahajjud prayer, including the correct conclusion with Tasleem and the optional addition of Witr prayer.

(“O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death, and the evil of the trial of the false messiah.”)

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la yaghfiru ad-dhunooba illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ’indika warhamni, innaka anta al-Ghafooru ar-Raheem.

(O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and no one forgives sins except You. So forgive me with forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.)

3x: Allahumma ini aujubika un ushrika bika wa ana a’lamu wa astaghfiruka lima la a’lamu.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from ascribing any partner to you knowingly. I also seek your protection from unknowingly [ascribing partners to you].

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min an ushrika bika shay'an a'lamuhu wa astaghfiruka lima la a'lamuhu. [Narrated by Ahmad and others, authenticated by Al-Haythami and Ibn Hibban]

Oh Allah, I seek refuge with You from committing shirk with You knowingly; and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know of.

Step 6: Additional Rak'ahs (Optional)

  • Tahajjud is prayed in sets of two rak'ahs. You can pray as many rak'ahs as you like in multiples of two. After each set of two rak'ahs, you repeat the same steps outlined above.

Step 7: Witr Prayer (Optional but Highly Recommended)

  • Witr prayer is often prayed after completing Tahajjud, especially during Ramadan. Witr can be prayed in 1 or 3 rak'ahs.

  • In the last rak'ah of Witr, you recite Dua-e-Qunoot before going into Ruku.

When is Tahajjud Concluded?

  • Tahajjud is typically concluded just before Fajr (dawn). It is recommended to wake up in the last third of the night and perform Tahajjud. This is considered the most blessed time for supplication and seeking Allah's forgiveness.

  • Once you finish praying your desired number of rak'ahs and Witr, your Tahajjud is complete.

By completing the Tasleem, your Tahajjud prayer is concluded, and you may follow it up with personal duas and supplications.

Here's the completion of the response on how to conclude Tahajjud prayer:

  • Once you have prayed your desired number of rak'ahs (in sets of two) and completed your Witr prayer (if you are praying it after Tahajjud), your Tahajjud prayer is officially complete.

Additional Acts After Concluding Tahajjud:

  1. Make Personal Duas (Supplications):

    • After finishing Tahajjud, it is an excellent time to make personal dua. You can ask Allah for forgiveness, blessings, guidance, and anything else on your heart. It is said that during the last third of the night, Allah is especially receptive to prayers.

    • A recommended dua for this time is:

      • Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni
(O Allah, You are the Pardoner, and You love to pardon, so pardon me).

  2. Recite Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah):

    • Engage in Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) by reciting phrases like:

      • Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah),

      • Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah),

      • Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest), and

      • La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah).

  3. Reflect and Seek Forgiveness:

    • The time following Tahajjud is a great opportunity for self-reflection, seeking Allah’s forgiveness, and increasing your closeness to Him.

  4. Preparation for Fajr:

    • Once you finish Tahajjud, you can prepare for the Fajr prayer by staying in a state of wudu (ablution) and continuing to engage in worship or quiet reflection until the call for Fajr is made.

Summary:

  • Tahajjud prayer is performed in sets of two rak'ahs, and you can offer as many as you are able.

  • After completing your desired number of rak'ahs, you conclude the prayer with Tasleem (turning your head right and left, saying "Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah").

  • Following Tahajjud, you may pray Witr if you have not prayed it earlier.

  • After concluding the prayer, spend time in dua and dhikr, reflecting on the mercy and forgiveness of Allah, especially in the last third of the night when supplications are more likely to be accepted.

By performing Tahajjud, especially during the blessed nights of Ramadan or on Laylatul Qadr, you increase your spiritual connection with Allah and reap immense rewards.

WITR

aloud

nahlas

Apologies for the confusion! Here is the completion of Step 7: Witr Prayer and the final conclusion of the Tahajjud prayer guide:

Step 7: Witr Prayer (Optional but Highly Recommended) – aloud, nahlas

After completing Tahajjud, it is recommended to offer Witr prayer, which is performed in an odd number of rak'ahs (usually 1 or 3). Witr can be offered after Isha or after Tahajjud, and it is considered the concluding prayer for the night.

    • Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem
(Guide us on the Straight Path)

    • Siraat allatheena an'amta 'alayhim ghayril maghdoobi 'alayhim walad-daaalleen
(The path of those You have blessed, not of those who have earned Your anger or gone astray)

    • Ameen (O Allah, accept this prayer)

  1. Recite a Short Surah:

    • After Surah Al-Fatiha, recite a short surah such as Surah Al-Ikhlas or any other preferred surah.

(O Allah, we seek Your help and ask for Your forgiveness, and we believe in You and rely on You, and we praise You in the best way.)

Wa nashkuruka wala nakfuruka, wa nakhla'u wa natruku man yafjuruka.
(And we are grateful to You and we are not ungrateful to You, and we forsake and turn away from the one who disobeys You.)

(O Allah, You alone we worship, and to You, we pray and prostrate, and for Your sake, we strive. We hope for Your mercy and we fear Your punishment. Indeed, Your punishment will overtake the disbelievers.)

  1. Ruku (Bowing):

    • Say "Allahu Akbar" and bow into Ruku.

    • In Ruku, say:

    • Subhaana Rabbiyal Adheem (Glory is to my Lord, the Most Great) - 3 times.

    • Then go back into Sujood and repeat Subhaana Rabbiyal A'laa (3 times).

Step 8: Tasleem (Ending Witr)

  • Turn your face to the right and say:

    • Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you).

  • Then turn your face to the left and say:

    • Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you).

When is Tahajjud Concluded?

  • After completing the Witr prayer (if you chose to pray it), your Tahajjud is fully concluded.

  • If you do not pray Witr after Tahajjud, then your Tahajjud is concluded after the Tasleem following your final rak'ah of Tahajjud.

Final Acts After Concluding Tahajjud

After completing Tahajjud and Witr, it is highly recommended to engage in:

  1. Dua (Supplication):

    • Make personal dua after the prayer. This is a special time to ask for Allah’s forgiveness, mercy, and guidance.

    • A well-known supplication for the night is:

      • "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni"
(O Allah, You are the Pardoner, and You love to pardon, so pardon me).

  2. Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah):

    • Continue to recite phrases like Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and La ilaha illallah.

  3. Reflection and Gratitude:

    • Use this time for reflection, gratitude, and seeking closeness to Allah.

Conclusion:

  • Tahajjud is a special voluntary prayer prayed in 2 rak'ahs, and you can perform as many rak'ahs as you wish.

  • After completing your Tahajjud, you can perform Witr prayer, which is highly recommended to complete your night worship.

  • After concluding the prayer with Tasleem, it is encouraged to engage in dua and dhikr, particularly in the final moments of the night before Fajr.

By performing Tahajjud, particularly during the last third of the night, you increase your chances of receiving Allahs mercy and forgiveness, especially on blessed nights like Laylatul Qadr.

Repentances for the last 1/3 of the night:

Eloquent repentance:

This is an eloquent and comprehensive dua seeking Allah’s forgiveness for all kinds of sins—past, present, intentional, unintentional, major, minor, hidden, and apparent. It also incorporates a plea for the fulfillment of rights owed to others, showing deep humility and awareness of accountability. Here is a clear breakdown:

Transliteration:

Allāhumma wa astaghfiruka likulli dhanbin jarā bihi ‘ilmuka fiyya wa ‘alayya ilā ākhir ‘umrī, bijamī’i dhunūbī li-awwalihā wa ākhirihā, wa ‘amdiha wa khaṭā’ihā, wa qalīlihā wa kathīrihā, wa daqīqihā wa jalīlihā, wa qadīmihā wa ḥadīthihā, wa sirrihā wa ‘alāniyatihā, wa jamī’i mā anā mudhnibuhu. Wa atūbu ilayka, wa as’aluka an tuṣalliya ‘alā Muḥammad wa āli Muḥammad, wa an taghfir lī jamī’a mā aḥṣayta min maẓālim al-‘ibād qablī, fa’inn li’ibādika ‘alayya ḥuqūqan anā murthahanun bihā taghfiruhā lī kayfa shi’ta wa annā shi’ta, yā arḥam ar-rāḥimīn.

Translation:

O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for every sin that Your knowledge encompasses in me and over me until the end of my life, for all my sins, the first of them and the last of them, their intentional and their accidental, their small and their great, their subtle and their manifest, their old and their new, their secret and their open, and for all that I am guilty of. I repent to You and ask You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and to forgive me for all the wrongs I have committed against Your servants before me. Indeed, Your servants have rights over me for which I am accountable. Forgive them for me as You wish and how You wish, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.

Ó Allah, žiadam Tvoje odpustenie za každý hriech, ktorý Tvoje vedomie zahŕňa vo mne a nado mnou až do konca môjho života, za všetky moje hriechy, ich prvé a posledné, úmyselné a neúmyselné, malé a veľké, jemné a zjavné, staré a nové, tajné a otvorené, a za všetko, čím som vinný. Ľutujem k Tebe a žiadam Ťa, aby si poslal požehnania na Muhammada a rodinu Muhammada, a aby si mi odpustil všetky krivdy

Reflection:

This supplication beautifully encapsulates the believer’s acknowledgment of their fallibility and the importance of justice, repentance, and mercy. It aligns closely with prophetic teachings of making amends and seeking divine forgiveness while imploring Allah to settle matters of human rights.

It is also noteworthy for including salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), further enriching its spiritual weight.

The Sayyidul Istighfar (the Master Supplication for Seeking Forgiveness): Muhammads Repentance - best / highest way to ask for forgiveness according to Muhammad (SAW).

The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: 'Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, A`udhu bika min Sharri ma sana`tu, abu'u Laka bini`matika `alaiya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta."

The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.

Here’s the corrected and polished transliteration for easier recitation:

Allahumma anta rabbee, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtanee wa ana ‘abduka, wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa’dika ma astata’tu, a’outhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu, aboo’u laka bini’matika ‘alayya, wa aboo’u bidhambe, faghfir lee, fa innahu la yaghfiru adh-dhunooba illa anta.

O Allah You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship in truth except You,

You created me and I am Your slave

and I abide by Your covenant

and promise as best as I can,

I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have committed,

I profess to you my sins

and I acknowledge Your favour upon me,

so forgive me verily no one forgives sins except You.

a zachovávam Tvoju zmluvu

a sľubujem, ako najlepšie viem,

Hľadám v Tebe útočisko pred zlom, ktoré som spáchal,

Vyznávam ti svoje hriechy

a uznávam Tvoju priazeň voči mne,

tak mi odpusť, veru nikto neodpúšťa hriechy okrem Teba.

Repentance that forgivess any sin according to Muhammad:

Reciting “Astaghfirullah Al-Azeem Al-Lazi La Ilaha Illa Huwal Qayyum Wa Atubu Ilayh” 10 times is a beautiful act of seeking forgiveness. Here’s the full breakdown of its meaning:

Transliteration:

10x: Astaghfirullāh al-ʿAẓīm al-ladhī lā ilāha illā Huwa al-Qayyūm wa atūbu ilayh.

Translation:

I seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty, besides whom there is no God, the living, the sustainer, and I repent to him.

Hľadám odpustenie od Allaha všemohúceho, okrem ktorého niet Boha, živého, živiteľa a robím pokánie k Nemu.

This powerful supplication emphasizes both the acknowledgment of Allah’s greatness (Al-Azeem), His unique divinity (La Ilaha Illa Huwa), and His role as the Sustainer (Al-Qayyum), while expressing sincere repentance.

Reciting it 10 times is not only an act of cleansing from sins but also a way to draw closer to Allah and recognize His supreme attributes. It’s a wonderful practice to include in daily dhikr!

Whoever says it, Allah will forgive his sins even if he fled from the battlefield says Prophet.

Repentance - often used usually just beofore the tasleem in prayer:

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la yaghfiru ad-dhunooba illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ’indika warhamni, innaka anta al-Ghafooru ar-Raheem.

O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and no one forgives sins except You. So forgive me with forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

This dua is highly recommended to be recited during the final moments of prayer (before Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah), as it combines seeking forgiveness with acknowledging Allah’s mercy.

Al-Bara’ bin `Azib (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

“Whenever Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) went to bed, he would lie down on his right side and recite:

“Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa ‘alja’tu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja’a wa la manja illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal–ladhi anzalta, wa nabiyyikal–ladhi arsalta."

[Translation: "O Allah!

⭕️ISLAMIC REPENTANCES⭕️:

The Prophet () said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: 'Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, A`udhu bika min Sharri ma sana`tu, abu'u Laka bini`matika `alaiya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta."

The Prophet () added.

This matches the authentic version from Sahih al-Bukhari, with slight adjustments in the transliteration style. If you want further clarification on pronunciation, feel free to ask!

Commentary: Before going to bed, a believer revives his commitment to Faith, Islam and Allah by reciting this prayer of Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam). Through this practice, every night he is able to remember Allah and His Commandments amidst the activities of the day time.

Conclusion:

  • Taraweeh prayer is performed in sets of 2 rak'ahs, repeated as many times as you like, usually either 8 rak'ahs or 20 rak'ahs.
